Mother’s Day

Mother’s day usually comes up during the second Monday in May though dates and celebrations may vary. Mother's day celebrates “the person who has done for you more than any other”.

In the United States, the history of Mother’s day that began with Jarvis. Jarvis conceived the holiday to be a personal celebration between mothers and their families. She was unhappy by how the holiday became commercialized after it was declared a national holiday in 1914.  Her idea still stays strong to write a hand written letter expressing gratitude and love not to depend on solely pre-made gifts and ready made cards.
Mother’s day is observed differently in different parts of the world. In Thailand, Mother’s day is celebrated in August on the day of the queens birthday. In Ethiopia, families gather together to sing songs and eat a large feast.

So depending on your culture or traditions, go out (or stay in) and celebrate Mother's Day. Make your mother feel special for the day! They've done everything they can to protect us and nurture us, let's all show them how much we love them.

April Fools Alcohol Awareness

Why do people hesitate to drink alcohol if it’s so good for you? There are three types of alcohols; Spirits (liquor), because they lift your spirits up, wine, for the finest of people like royalty, and beers, for the everyday life person. We have proof from history itself that shows that alcohol is good for you. The Russians drank alcohol to warm themselves up in the freezing cold. The Europeans believed that drinking alcohol could clear and eliminate all the bad bacteria from within the body just like rubbing alcohol on a wound. Alcohol is a god given beverage sent from the heavens of the earth. Alcohol gives people satisfaction and can lead you into the wonderful world of addiction.

Becoming an alcoholic is quiet simple, start drinking. How do you think people start feeling better? They drink alcohol. What do people drink at parties? Punch spiked with alcohol. Holidays are all about alcohol. Passover has the four cups of wine, where you lean to the left and drink like kings. Purim is a happy occasion where grownup and adolescents dress up and drink alcohol. People’s lives revolve around alcohol. Once you start drinking, it’s hard to stop.

Just by looking at an alcoholic beverage is salivating in the mouth. The smell is very sweet that it makes you want to have more and more. When you’re an alcoholic you hear it calling you, begging you to drink some. The second it touches your mouth it’s the feeling of hallelujah. Finally, when you start to drink the alcohol, it’s the taste of heaven. You can drink alcohol with or without food. Either way would feel great but I’d prefer without food because you can drink more. Then after you throw it all up you can drink it again. When you run out of alcohol and you’re too lazy to go buy more, just take out some nail polish remover and drink it straight from the container.

The ladies just love the bad breath and that cool staggering walk. Once those women smell that alcoholic breath and see those red-rimmed eyes of yours you can bet that they’ll all be standing in line waiting to make out with you. Let’s not forget about the ladies themselves. Women who are pregnant should not drink. However, women who wouldn’t mind nursing or becoming pregnant are encouraged to try it.

When you’ve had a bad day what’s better than alcohol. Your life will fall back into place. Drinking makes you confident, probably because you were fired from your job. If you haven’t already been fired from your job, continuing drinking because your boss would really love that. However, alcohol is expensive, and without a job what can you do, so drink cheap beer and get some rich friends to back up that awesome habit of yours. While you’re at it, why don’t you take that 2011 recalled Toyota out for a ride! You’ll feel a great thrill from having to rely on that blurred vision. Oh, and if you drive fast enough and get pulled over by the cops they’ll send you to the most luxurious motel there is for last minute reservations. The words of wisdom that come out of your mouth are best when drunk and foolish. You’ll surely wake up satisfied with what you said the night before. In addition, waking up after a hangover is the perfect reason to drink again.

Warning side effects may include loss of virginity, loss of clothing, and loss of money; desire to sing karaoke all around the streets. Alcohol is the perfect aspect of getting pregnant and may result in getting your ass kicked. So, what are you waiting for? Stop hiding and start living, drink alcohol now.

Gender Inequality - Criminal Cases in Favor of Women?

Gender discrimination is not always in favor of men. When it comes to criminal court cases studies show that men get sentenced to prison longer than women for the same crimes committed.

One of the main questions that is asked is if men and women who are arrested for the same exact crimes end up with the same sentencing? According to a study conducted at the University of Michigan Law School by Sonja Starr, “men receive 63% longer sentences on average than women do. Women are also significantly likelier to avoid charges and convictions, and twice as likely to avoid incarceration if convicted”.

Many women can get away with the “girlfriend theory” where the female played a minor role in the crime leaving one to assume that she’s less dangerous or the “parental responsibilities” where females are generally considered to be more nurturing and caring or have children to take care of allowing their sentencing to be shorter and less harsh.  Another reason as to why the government is more lenient with women is because they are more willing to cooperate with the government, which may also play a role in lowering their sentencing.

They say, that everyone learns from their environment, women in particular are usually adaptive to their environment. That may also be why when girls are put in a school setting they will learn the material faster and are much easier to control as opposed to their male counterparts. Consequently, one might argue that due to the environment the female grows up in may have influenced her badly, such as family hardship.

Drink water, it's good for you!

(January, 30, 2015)
You have likely been told every summer since you were a child that you should drink plenty water so you don’t dehydrate. While this is an accurate statement it is not the only positive aspect that drinking water offers. There are actually numerous benefits that consuming water has on your body, which will have these positive effects throughout the entire year.

Throughout the day our bodies continuously lose bodily fluids as we sweat, create saliva, urinate and even breathe. It is therefore imperative that we replace these fluids so our bodies can function properly and stay healthy. Dehydration occurs if our input of liquids does not equal the output of fluids our body is exhausting. During the summer months when the temperatures are much higher our bodies sweat much more and we therefore need to replace these fluids at a quicker pace. The same applies to the other months of the year where people may forget to drink.

In addition to maintaining bodily fluids, drinking water also helps us control our calorie intake. This is because with the consumption of water our bodies will feel very full from the water weight, which will deter us from snacking or eating more than is necessary and thus keep our calorie count in check. This can help you loose weight while still feeling satisfied after your meal.

Another use that is often overlooked is that our skin contains plenty of water, and is used as a protective barrier to prevent excess fluid loss. If we become dehydrated our skin will start to feel dry and may wrinkle.
So what are you waiting for go-ahead grab a cup of water and keep yourself fit and healthy.
